Free Ain't Always What its Cracked Up to Be

This weekend was a full and enjoyable one!

The retreat at Camp NaCoMe was lovely. Lots of togetherness and focusing on the "vision" for the City Church family. I love those folks!! The weather was cruddy but it didn't matter. Yours truly pulled off the game duties. Y'all- i got so excited about Link Tag (or Elbow Tag... whatever you call it) that i messed up the instructions and had to have someone else explain it. sheesh. Ah well... at least Red Rover and Kickball were a hit!

Today (Sunday) was about the most gorgeous weather in Nashville history! Sunny, warm, and wonderful! I also enjoyed my "Day Off" as part of the Body for Life program. It is profound how much better i have felt lately. Profound because today has been in stark contrast to that feeling. i mean... i feel like a swollen tick.. only instead of blood, there's nothing but french fries and beer about to come spilling out. I will say, the only perk to the off day is that i now appreciate the benefits of the eating plan. It just makes sense. body gets fuel and feels amazing vs. freely consuming french fries to the point of carb-faced agony. So... turns out freedom may not be best for me. Back to the plan starting bright and early!

I had two very fun activities today- first being a photo shoot. that's right... you read that correctly. I, kelley lynne kirker, enjoyed my sophomore experience in the world of jewelry modeling. The oh-so-talented Beth "Freshie" Lawrence brought over her amazing pieces of jewelry and we snapped some photos of them for her website. She's also putting another add in Bust Magazine for her biz and i get to be on the add! holler! Thanks, beth, for the fun times and fabulous earrings!

My second fun diversion today was that of a wedding shower for Julie Howell! We all wore an old bridesmaid dress to the affair. it really was hysterical to see some nice and not-so-nice dresses donned. Basically, it was a good excuse for us to all get a second wear out of those bad boys and to sit around and love on our friend julie. good times were had by all.

And so begins another week! Here's to the "lack of freedom" that feels so good and a great (but busy) weekend!

What did y'all do?

Thank you so much for modeling for me! I'm working on getting a bunch of the photos up on the website in addition to the Bust ad!
